I went to Sapa during the Chinese New Year to enjoy the famous rice fields, visit local tribe villages and most importantly to go hiking! After pork delicacies and way too much rice wine it was time for some good workout. We hiked Mount Fansipan, the highest peak of Vietnam at 3143m. It’s also known as the Roof of Indochina, we just called it Mt. Fantsypants π
I have to admit it was quite a challenge, it is normally
recommended to go for a 2 day hike and spend a night in a tent somewhere on the way. We decided to hike the mountain in 1 day and it took 11 hours in total! It was a bit of a push especially that the route was quite strenuous. But the views from the top rewarded everything. It was just what I needed after staying in a polluted and noisy Hanoi.
Here are some photos of our adventure!
